Hallo Alle
After trying to find a suitable wehrmacht band I came to the conclusion that I would have to join 2 different Preiser sets together to get what I was after. So far I have made 12 members of the band and plan for maybe another 12 to complete it ( budget cutbacks in war time Germany )

I can almost hear them...
... Playing the "Badenweiler Marsch" or "Muß I denn".
Splendid idea, will they be standing dockside when "Das Boot" leaves the pen?
Cheers,
Jens O.

Re: Wehrmacht Band
Thanks Jens
Yes the plan is for them to be there at the leaving and Return of the U Boot/S Boot and KriegsfischKutter and anything else that makes an appearance ( any excuse for a tune )

Re: Wehrmacht Band
Hi Ian!
I have seen your pictures on the military modellers group, great work and an beautifull diorama. I would just consider to use a real picture of the sky as backround.
Where did you get the coblestones from?
reegards

Re: Wehrmacht Band
Thanks Ralf and Norman
I had thought of various ideas for a background but being cheap I just painted on the clouds to a blue background. The dockside is just supposed to give a background to the future U boat project and so I was not to bothered about it being very realistic but I might change it in the future if it makes the rest of the scene look poor.
As for the cobblestones they were the most expensive part of the scene as they are 3 sheets of the Noch '3D strukturfolie 57478 Steinboden grau' which have an adhesive backing and are very easy to cut and stick on to the base but they did become a bit of a jigsaw puzzle trying to cut it around the various tracks and buildings but they looked good when it was all finished and I am glad i carried on with them.

Re: Wehrmacht Band
Hi Ian,
Just to say "woow !". Great work, you made something unique. I prefer a smaller band like this one, a band with 40 members could look a bit "to crowded" on a diorama. Sometimes less is more...
Greetz,
Bert

Hallo Alle
Here is the final set up of the band. 24 figures was quite enough to paint!!!
