Hi Ian,

congrats to your Stearman, wonderful!

The Corsair is very interesting for me, where to get? Are there any more out there?

Cheers

Ralf

Thanks Ralf.
I found the Corsair on Ebay in Japan and was pleasantly surprised that it was a proper 1/87 scale airplane because it is always a bit of a chance whether what is advertised is actually correct. It seems to come from a series of part works on airplanes where you get a model and a magazine telling the history of the plane but the guy selling them only sells the models (thankfully). Most of the planes are Japanese for obvious reasons but just recently he has started including some German and American planes. Not all the planes are 1/87 as it depends on how big the wingspan works out as the carton they come in seems to be a set size so although a Corsair is 1/87, a Ju87 Stuka turns out as a 1/100 model as does a P38 Lightning so you have to be careful and check that it is the right scale first. Luckily he usually puts a picture of the artwork of the plane in the picture segment and that has the scale the model is made in (his descriptions on the scale are not 100% accurate so always check as I found out to my cost with an observation plane). I am expecting a Spitfire and P47 in my next delivery and hopefully they will also be 1/87 as well and then the next problem is making some undercarriage.
If you search for '1/87 Japanese aircraft' on Ebay you should find the seller Vellshop0710 - he is very reasonable for postage from Japan and my parcels have usually arrived in just over a week or so.
