Hello everyone,
In the early BW day's I believe there were at less two M39's modified to carrier 81mm mortars. Is this correct? Does any one know if the ring mount for the M2 .50 Cal HMG was removed so that the 81mm mortar could be fired from the vehicle?
Also were there any other projects or concepts proposed?
Thanks again for everyone's help.

Re: M39 Utility Vehicle
Hello Worth,
In the early Bundeswehr there were several M-39s what carried 81mm mortars but I don't know the number.
As I know the mortars were fastened on the bottom with a wooden auxiliary construction. That was only an interim solution.
I have some photos of such vehicles. I'll look for them and show copies here.
Regards
Heinz
